The strap
After seeing this watch and hearing everyone’s 2 cents all day about it I’ve gone back and forth on whether I like it or not. I do not think the strap does it any favors but a solid tan strap in rubber or croc would be killer. I’m not going to judge it by AP stock photos but rather in the metal as I’m sure it will look spectacular.

If AP can’t be bothered to build a properly sized movement then just hide it with a solid caseback.

But what’s even nicer is that perfect 15202! I’d take that over all and every ROO!
I own a few Offshores and love them. So fun to wear.
But I frequently proclaim the 15202 as my favorite AP reference. So we agree here Generally speaking, I have a special love for 39mm Royal Oaks.

we can have differing opinions on what we like but in the end owning a watch is a very personal thing and as long as that piece makes you happy thats all that matters. I also, agree with you on the 39mm RO- will definitely add either the 15300 or 15202 so...
It did not strike me as a "Nicoesque" timepiece... but fear not...
I have a feeling another will be more your cup of tea ;-)

But with a few, why not? This will be so fun to wear.
Most replies are complimentary, but this model does not seem destined to please all.
And that is perfectly OK, IMO, and something that will make owners of this watch enjoy it even more.
Agreed it won't please all but it will be a high profile piece
I predict you'll see it on many celebs, athletes and off shore devotees.
I have a similar feeling.
While "polarizing" makes me want it more, "high profile" makes me want it less. At the end of the day, I never purchase a watch for myself based on what others think or choose for themselves. But I doubt this one will be under the radar with those who see...

I think the "tactical" names are played. And after all, AP already released the Survivor.
This is not a combat watch just because it has a camo strap. They already have a Safari; Chameleon seems a good fit. Regardless of what we dub this Offshore, I'm excited to see it!

On the website the theme seems to be “Reinterpreting Our Classics”. Does this mean this is the “new” safari? Maybe we will see a navy/volcano/bumblebee variant in the 44mm offshores?
Well, we have not yet had a 44mm Safari...
Most of the nicknames over the years seem to go with 42mm models - Safari, Volcano, Navy, Elephant. But it is no secret, 2018 marks 25 years of the Royal Oak Offshore... it is a safe bet that the theme will center on that ;-)

SEXY ! As you know, i love the yellow Chrono Diver very much - I also like many other APs - but the most special watches, the courageous watches, are the coolest! The 15202 is everybody's darling, and rightly so, but an Offshore like this with Camou rubbe...

No doubt it's very aggressive and sporty but I still prefer the classic roayl oak! (well, I can't afford both of them for now so it's just my opinion ) cheers and thanks for sharing Flavio

The truth is these 44mm Offshores wear quite large, easily the equivalent of a 47mm Panerai "on the wrist", IMO. I have a flat wrist and they work, but still a Monster. Let's see what else is coming...

I think you have this one pegged very well, Hans.
As I said above, probably not the choice for a person with 1 AP, but I can see it fitting in many collections, if the owner likes this unique style.
