Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 39MM Openworked 💀skeleton 6 years later

Sep 08, 2022,23:50 PM

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 39MM Openworked has been in my collection for 6 years. So many things changed (especially at Audemars Piguet..back then they did want to sell watches 😁).

I didn't wear tihis was recently but I decided to take out of the vault and enjoy it!

At 39mm the size x 9.4mm thickness is a perfect case ! Will give it more wrist time as it deserves. We live only once 😁

Did this originally come on leather strap, or did you switch out the bracelet?

thank you! the original came like this but there was another model with the gold bracelet

You can't get a better Royal Oak, IMO. Great to see it back on the wrist!

Nice piece!

True!

It's still high even now. But... the pandemonium out there right now... makes everything we bought a few years back look cheap.

Beautiful and a timeless classic imho

Wear it more often when possible. We die once but live every day 😉

well said, will wear it more !

the issue is always with the current bubble APs can be a bit flashy (and in some places even dangerous)

Merci Nico 👏

I tried this on nearly ten years ago

Perfect proportions, and I always liked this skeleton over the newer 41mm one. I still think of it often!! ...

10 yeears wow!

I am sure back then they wanted to sell it and move ! was not super popular but made in limited numbers. New skeleton started at an higher price/size so I was glad to get one of the last 39mm

Aaah, the good old days

When availability was not an issue, just the emptiness of your wallet!! I was also fortunate to try out this special piece. I feel the early 2010s was a bit of a golden era for AP in recent times, there were many many great pieces. ...

Here you go!

Watches such as these always made the Jules Audemars line a favourite line for me out of all the brands. ...

Hmmmmmm! Thank you!

almost all was available on the spot. I even asked in the forum if I should get the skeleton, to some was too expensive but now is a different world...glad I got it!

thank you 👏also for the compliments about the outfit

always do my best to look...my best

There's a "nice" scar

Of course you had been extremely disappointed when it has occurred, but that's the evidence you wear your watches and don't keep them into a safe (though any RO can no longer be worn easily and safely)

haha 😁great that you noticed the scar !

It actually happened early one when I bought the watch..with a wall or a door! but it became part of the watch! In fairness the recent price explosions 💥made me leave it in the safe ..for too long! Zürich is pretty safe ..or at least the places I visit so...
