I like how you posed the question/scenario...
I hardly ever change watches during the day (e.g., at the end of day), and I never wear a suit or dress up. So, I basically always wear a Lange while dressed informally. You SHOULD NOT feel like you need to dress up to wear a Lange -- no worries whatsoever about that!
One of the many things I like about Lange is that most of their watches really transcend context -- formal, informal, etc. -- except, as you note, Lange hasn't produced a sports watch (and I'm in the camp that hopes they never do!).
[That being said, I do trade off between Langes and some other brands for days at a time. For example, I've been wearing the Lange Zeitwerk Striking Time for about 2 weeks -- a very long time for me -- but tomorrow I'm switching to an Omega Ploprof (new version, not vintage). I guess I feel the need to stick with big watches for now!

I struggled with that very same question myself! I have immense respect for Lange and I think their production process has more "honesty" than other brands. Perhaps I'm being naive but it seems the way they do things, it's really hard to ramp up productio...

Secretlife, not OT - as I guess you had similar concerns as me. I am quite sure I will end up with a Lange, though - but will take my time to find that perfect combination. The fun is in the hunt!

I think it is possible
depending on the color of the case. For me, almost all white metal watches can be worn quite casually. I often wear this one with jeans etc... Best regards, Dirk ...

Yes, the Dato, generation 1 - it really seems to be a center piece along with the Lange 1...can't wait to try those 2 on some day!

Thanks for the response CR, that is another take/use scenario - but good to know you switch it up once in a while with other brands. I used to wear only Panerai for many years, so used to big watches! (Despite my tiny wrists). I will take your advice and ...

Most Langes are formal only. No doubt. While some have a picture of a sweater and dressy Lange and say it is casual, it sure does not look casual (not in the PP 5711 5167 or Rolex Sub casual) way. That said, I find the Lange 1 darth and Dato and Double Sp...
