Can anyone explained this?

Hi all,
I recently got a pre-own Lange Datograph 1st Generation ( Ref : 403.032 ). The watch is a 2006 Datograph Rose gold with a silver dial. I even post an incoming thread here. To the best of my knowledge ( and the watch dealer that sold me the watch ), the watch has never been sent for service.
I was posting to my instagram
www.instagram.com
about how how I find the case finishing very admirable and it has this exquisite brush / polished alternating finishing in the case. Here's a picture :
The "big" surprise was when others start to comment that their RG Datograph cases are all fully polished. This is so for 5 owners of the exact same ref that I have personally contacted and verified on instagram. I further learned that Lange don't actually made their own cases and are outsourced to third party. It's still not very clear to me if they are finished by Lange inhouse but for the same reference, how can there be two type of case finishing? Is mine an "oddball"? An accidental mistake? Yet another theory was that 1st Generation RG Datographs are all 100% fully polished because at that time, it was done to ensure better durability of the finishing but I don't see anything wrong with mine.
To be honest, I personally preferred the case finishing of mine and it looks more interesting but still I am very intrigued. So am posting here hoping to seek answers. And curious what is the side case finishing of your datographs if you own a 1st Generation RG Datograph?
