I think Lange started with quite a few outsourced components and then slowly start bringing everything in-house.

Can anyone explained this?
By: benlee338 : October 31st, 2020-05:34
Hi all, I recently got a pre-own Lange Datograph 1st Generation ( Ref : 403.032 ). The watch is a 2006 Datograph Rose gold with a silver dial. I even post an incoming thread here. To the best of my knowledge ( and the watch dealer that sold me the watch )...
Thanks for the input

Hey BFP, nice to see you here! Have you seen a 403.432 with a brushed case somewhere?
Likewise!

Sorry - I *may* have been having a moment this morning. I was thinking of a 403.041... Which doesn't have a bracelet. In any event, it does look like a 403.041 case (which was brushed). But then this one has the wrong dial. So who knows... Perhaps ALS is ...
It cant be a 403.041

As that is the ref for the very rare Yellow Jacket, ie Datograph in yellow gold.
I re-check the docs

It's mentioned in the documentation booklet 403.032 and the serial number matches so it is the RG Datograph Silver in strap.

The reason Lange buy cases is maybe to focus the full on movements, and dials of course.
Lange rose gold middle cases - change from polished to brushed
By: CR : October 31st, 2020-10:44
Until about 2015, Lange fully polished all of their rose gold cases, regardless of the model. Lange did this because of concerns about tarnishing on the brushed surfaces of their rose gold cases -- a concern that was not an issue for all of their other ca...
Yes, I also heard

.. about what you wrote from another friend who is very familiar with Lange. So the change of the case finishing ( mid section to brush ) is actually relatively recent. Which makes this even more puzzling! Yes, the warranty papers was date stamped 2006 by...
I think the middle of the case was

brushed later, and not by Lange, the watch original came with polished case... If it had made by Lange, it would have been looking different: more deep brushes in a certain direction. I am sure that if you make detailed pictures and send them to Lange the...
I did consider this possibility...
By: benlee338 : October 31st, 2020-17:21
But I don't think so, as that will mean the previous owner will have to risk potential problems happening to the watch and also voiding the warranty, unless he did he after the warranty expired. The brushed finish is exactly the same as those posted by Am...
