... so if i were you, i wouldn't do anything, before really knowing what i want.
The 5070 is the kind of watch that you love more and more as you wear it. If you don't, then it might better go leaving place for something else.
About the Dato, i find the new up/down misbalanced, the area between '10' and '2' feels empty, while the original had the roman numbers that are very nice.
Plus keep in mind that black dials are special in a way that they are for black dial lovers, meaning if you are not, you might get bored of it with time.

Yes sir, thank you. I feel the size of the new data suits me better and i prefer the "cleaner" dial. Looks like the poor man's DS! :)
I prefer the up/down Dato by far over the original
and while the 5070 is a true collectors item, I would not fear parting with it, as it is always available and has not risen that much in value over the last 7-8 years... (not much, I say, but somewhat-- actually less than you would expect) , so don't fret...
While the original Dato may be the "must have"...
... I find the new Dato U/D is a bit larger diameter and therefore a bit better balanced (distribution of the weight), thus easier for your wrist.... Having had three Datos in the past, just my 2 cents.... Ken
I agree with Nicholas. The PP 5070 is an icon, far more
charming than the PP's new 5170, and the original Dato is more of an icon than the Up/Down. Sometimes you cannot improve upon perfection. Love your VC 1921. One of the finest tie only watches in the world. I have a Traditionelle which shares the same move...

Dato is the better watch of the two
Although 5960p still has the upper hand when it comes to second hand value.
