I wouldn’t have the guts or patience to even think of doing this .... or the skills for that matter.
From a distance your fisrt pic reminded me of one of my friends old VW’s T1 standing in my barn for 15 years, completely disassembled. One day he bought a dash for it as it was one of the pieces missing. So last summer after 10 years he dicided to mount the dash and start rebuilding the T1 ..... only to find out it wasn’t the correct dash .... gnarrrr gnarrrr 😬😁😁

The original wood veneer in the '86 XJ6 was so bad, parts of the veneer were actually falling off in large pieces. It's really the only problem the car had. I wanted to re-veneer it in burlwood but I planned on hand-choosing the veneer from a local shop, ...
