Zenith

I am somewhat torn here...

While you bring out the beauty of the watch spectacularly well, Magnus, and while there is little that I could find to critique, that on its own for me is not enough reason to bring it back. I feel the watch industry has for too long relied on its archives and on re-editions, as opposed to facing an equally rich and fascinating future that they could create. After all, the creators of pieces like this one did not look to the past, either and that's why we admire those pieces today.

Secondly, I am not fully sure that the re-edition could remain adequately faithful to the original. Zneith has made some great heritage inspired pieces as of late - our P15 being a prime example - but some of their previous efforts - such as the Rainbow - somehow did not capture the charm of the originals for me. If the reissue will be done in 43m,m and above, as opposed to the original 40mm, all the other proportions changed, then I am not sure if I would not rather hunt for the vintage original.

At the same time, if they do it right, and limit the series to a small one, it could well be a good 'intermediate' piece, until they can get a new, novel portfolio to market. If we makew a PuristSPro Edition out of it, you know I will get it, throwing all the points above to the wind wink But even then, I would find it better with the 21 movement or some other element that would make it fresh, as well as 'traditional'.
