on the back, which designates it's military issue.
It is a pleasure to wear and hard to return.
I am being tempted to the world of Rolex, but I would have to start with something a little more down to earth I think.

I was able to use an Omega non-AC dial from Otto Frie. The markers and logo are raised rather than painted. Often wondered why Omega doesn't offer this. Miki

Hi Graham, an early ref 6238 from about 1963.
Valjoux 72B movement, screw down crown with non screw down pushers- not water proof. The next model 6239 had a different bezel with a tachymeter scale Regards Julian

With the older dials
It is always hard to capture in photos. The matt and glossy dials are pretty easy to capture but this has a little more grainy feel to the black. Almost like orange peel texture in a more micro sense. I guess this is pretty common with the early materials...
