Here are my picks for Static Photo this week:
Third place: Ares 501's Cortébert pocket watch . . .
. . . on the Mouton Cadet box. A beautiful harmony between the florid script of the watch numerals and the script on the box. An excellent pairing!
Second place: deBalzac's Minerva Pythagore, black and white. The heightened contrast of the photo . . .
. . . really brings out the beauty of the dial and the case of the watch.
First place: CH9698's Patek Nautilus.
Great use of depth of field to highlight a stunning watch (and my great weakness is certainly the Nautilus). Also, kudos to CH9698 for all of the rest of the photos and watches. All very well done and each could have been the winning photo.
Thanks to all who submitted; the quality of photography of the Purists always requires one to up their game (and contemplate the purchase of a really good macro lens).
