so my list would be, in order of being my fav 1. Debethune 2. Mbaf 3. Urwerk. Having said that, nothing against urwerk cuz I do like some of their watches and their technical proweres is still amaizng, just not my cup of tea.
Dear friends, this week's round should be a theme that speaks to nearly all of us: show us a piece, that is not to everybody's taste. A piece that is odd, unusual by its shape, size or wierd function. T o give you an example: being 6.2" tall and "big" it ...
Hello dear Count and friends... Can I be redeemed for enjoying the guilty pleasure of a βgoldβ Seiko ? ... More shocking confessions to come ;-)) ...
... to your challenge. I feel we will be receiving some awesome entries from our community this weekend !! Hagwe my friend. Abel PS: I also like to wear small sized watches from time to time, specially fond of Rolex Bubblebacks which go around 33/34mm and...
Size matters ;-o ... I genuinely love this Zenith but itβs like owning a βloudβ sports jacket, some people just canβt get their head round it ! The shock factor is always amusing, ;-)) ...
I love unusual designs and things that are more unique. While i do not see a lot of cars that are super unique, I do think that some of the cars I have included did not have a large following when they were first introduced and a lot of crisitim but are n...
... your watches! Guess we have some winning shots here considering the Theme this weekend! Awesome timepieces and cars! Thank you for your participation!! Hagwe! Abel
... because too bulky / heavy / funky 70βs kind of a watch, and itβs not a mechanical nor a quartz movement but something in between. Yet I like it very much, go figure ? Featuring DrStrong MGB : No shirt allowed Side by side with an Omega PloProf (on the...
. . . but thought better of it. When Gene Wilder died a few years ago, the obits mentioned his being mostly serious when he wasn't in front of a camera. Hard to believe Pryor was ever serious. ;-)
... a Rolex Bubbleback which can be considered too small for a manβs watch as per today standards My Big Egiziano Panerai which could be considered too big in any epoch! (Well I had never worn it outside my home but I feel so happy every time I view this ...
LOL: "Well, I had never worn it outside my home ..." and I can see why: 60 mm is quite an acquired taste! I often said regarding watches that I would love to own beyond 45 or 47 mm, that they would still make great desc clocks, so I know what you are "dil...
I feel the Big Egiziano is a must have piece for a Panerai lover and fan and I feel very lucky having the opportunity of owning this big guy. Not a practical watch to wear of course and it surely would rise many questions and sights by nearby people. I pr...
In many ways, this is an odd watch. A watch with a built in compass, adjusted by an oddly placed second crown at 4? Green dial with gold accents? And it comes with a pretty mediocre brown leather strap too. But with an upgrade to an AR crystal, and a thir...
. . . of their being distributed solely in Japan. Mine was sourced in Japan and serviced by none other than Ohira-san, the Grand Master . . . . . . of Grand Seiko. ...
Dear Count, The Mercedes looks absolutely fine to me my friend.... . For watches, let me share two which are not love at first sight for many. People look at this beat up Rolex and could not quite understand why....... When I first saw this, my reaction w...
Very true: hardly anyone outside the watch fanatic world can understand beaten up or vintage pieces. To compare your Uhrwerk to a roman helmet is funny! Very well played, dear S F!
... to take my old vintage Sub or GMT to the official Service Dept to change the dial of my watch! (OMG!!) An offer I courteously declined of course. I can also understand your change of mind when viewing your Uhrwerk in the metal for first time. Great ch...
... Poor collectors and watch aficionados... Except by other collectors and watch aficionados! Lol! Same good wishes for you my friend and thank you! Abel
Was looking through some of my boxes & pics but just came up with one humble single piece.. Thus without further ado, here a rather rare Ref. from LeCoultre, for me a really funky piece: LeCoultre Memovox Ref. LC 3072, a real child of the funky 70ies:...
... of straps you fitted matches with color and style the spirit of this outstanding watch. I really like it! Thank you for sharing my dear friend and I wish you a nice and joyful weekend. Best, Abel
...off the beaten track, not everyone's cup of tea And ultra thin dress watch,a bit passe today but i enjoy the slim case and movement....it can only be a dress watch ...
The UN anniversary has got it all on paper (big date, blue, white metall...), but the execution was quite daring. I am sure in real the quality of the case and dial will be very high and impressive.
That first UN with this intense blue , the strong contrast white the metal exhibits an intense, strong appearance. And the last to me also has an unusual bewitching appeal, also quite eclectic, IMHO. Thx for this sharing and Best, hs
The ones below could be categorized as unusual or different but I find each one beautiful or purposeful in their own way. Have to start with the EL2. It is not for everyone as it is big, bold, a bit crazy, etc...but the sum more than justifies the parts. ...
Love your RD Sympathy pp chrono! I think the shape of the case ia gorgeous and the movement also quite impressive. The others are also top, top pieces and hard to pick one of them. Very well played πππ

I hunted for a good example of this Lord Matic Seiko for over a year after spotting a rough one in the βjunk drawerβ of a watch store. Why? Because I love it! ...
Bringing out one of my two Playboy labelled products - a Seiko Hi-Beat palladium coated hand wound piece made for PB in the 1970s The next one doesn't really conform to the guilty pleasure moniker when it comes to the watch but with two small kids around,...
