My Flightmaster might hold the record . . .

. . . for long-range sniper shots.
Started the hunt ~ 2004 but unable to match up finds with funds for over a decade. Either an affordable 910 wasn't available, or the bank account was drained when it was.
In early January 2016, I was home one evening unable to sleep. "Let's go hunting!", said I to myself.
Started looking in the usual places - our CM, Omega Forums, eBay - without luck. Either too crappy or overpriced.
"Hmmm . . . how about Craigslist?", I wondered.
So I started their search engine in my locale, then shifted locations until arriving at Phoenix, AZ.
Bingo! A 910 Flightmaster offered for a reasonable price!!
Here are some of the seller's pics . . .
. . . that I've saved from Craigslist. You can imagine my mental state: a perfect example of a fully intact 910 offered under market price, with more than sufficient funds in my account. I waited until daylight to call the seller.
"Hi, I'm interested in your Flightmaster. Do you still have it?"
"Uh, yes, I do. What are you offering?"
"Your asking price, sir."
"Umm, ok. Where do I send it?"
"Don't bother. I'll come pick it up in person."
Two days later I was on the road to Phoenix and met the seller at a Bank of America. Cash and Flightmaster exchanged hands.
Then we talked about the watch. It turned out he had tried selling on eBay for almost a year at market price, 50% higher than his ask on Craigslist. Unfortunately he had no track record on eBay, so apparently no one had enough confidence to transact. That's when he decided to post on Craigslist.
As in comedy and stock trading, timing is everything when it comes to watch collecting.
