This week’s Wristscan is about “stealth”. Nilo tells me that in certain parts of the world, if you walk around with a Rolex on your wrist, you are inviting trouble. Similarly, I know of one guy who wears a Patek because in his workplace, a Patek just isn'...
A Geophysic is more " stealth "... But it is much more famous than this MM Deep Sea... Which I feel a bit paradoxal.... Maybe my Girard Perregaux Gyromatic? But its inverse Arrow indexes could not be perceived as " Stealth ". Best, my friend. Nicolas
9/11 - yes, horror for the world for quite a long time to come.. Interesting, but deeply human, that most people know exactly, what they did, where they were.. .. Burned in .. Bending our heads with compassion & memories.. Best, hs
What you don't see with PuristS is sometimes more interesting than what you can see.... My 1st entry is the most stealthy wrist-shot. Can you identify the watch with invisibility cloak activated? Hint: It's Anthony Tsai and the case back markings are in r...
The quintessential PuristS' stealth watch must be the St Gallen PuristSPro All-Black RESCUE. See how the real carbon fibre dial changes stealthily with the changes in light? Also the shaded black SuperLuminova for the PuristSPro logo at 6 o'clock that is ...
My final entry is actually not on-the-wrist. Does that make it an entry for WotW? Photo shows a watch crafted with meticulous detail by a gentleman and true PuristS. He even rejected the first set of dials and date discs because they were the "wrong" shad...
. . . G O, as well as the Zenith - have drawn comment from people who aren't watch-conscious. (The GS hasn't yet, but I've only had it for a year.) On the other hand, none of my vintage pieces seem to elicit any interest at all - not even Black Connie. So...
. . . by his eldest brother, who acquired this plus two more nearly identical Conquests (the others had yellow gold hands and markers) in July '56. The other two have both been lost, in separate burglaries.
Thus, pls accept my little chip(s) - well more a Collage, also in festive surroundings.. Upper: E855 black Memo, middle: GP & festive staircase., Bottom : GP Time Zone Alarm Truly like it, to stay under the Radar Still enjoyable , Best & HAGWE !! hs ...
Just saying, was a real coincidence : - actually, as you know, a more modern piece and no Vintage.. - but nice & cool to look at, a real "sub-radar" companion For a possible Vintage, I'll take my time, as suggested by the aficionado(s). ;)) BTW: getting e...
that makes the owner happy while others may be clueless about its complications and value. As a bonus, it has the most useful complications a traveller could need. CC
almost trivial, but useful ! This GP Traveller / Time Zone Alarm is, how to also put it, maybe: ".. a watch for oneself", not for Bling or for others !! Thanks again, for your kind interest ! Best & HAGWE , hs
Yes, she complements my Alarm theme, a bit- - is sort of " old class Modern", - secondly, she joins the Black Knights & Ladies !! Thx for your kind looking, Best, my dear friend ! hs
She has a sort of " sinker"- appeal, something, which takes a bit, but then may foster some strong bonds?. Was attracted also by her calm presence, a sort of " think twice"- feature, nothing to immediately " jump" on; but something quite nice to experienc...
Considering that I live on a place that is truly impossible to wear a Rolex (now AP/Hublot are also being targets), here we have: 1) The one that survived a robbery. It's my go to watch when I "walk on the wild side" (and we have many places here). A dear...

Since, if i wear this watch in This setting (Norway): It is the ultimate stealth watch... Yet if I wear it here, like I am today (Rome): Man, it is impossible to keep people from staring at your watch all the time!!!! :P Great post! S ...
...if only the dial were 'sterile'! Do you recall, Art, the hand-made watches of sometime Purist 'Archer'? They were notable for their elegant simplicity and for the lack of any identification of their maker. The very definition of 'stealth'. In a similar...

one of the stealthiest if not the stealthiest one out there that little nose and pimple will cause palpitations only in cognoscenti other could find it strange Cyrano de Bergerac syndrome Your mate D
. . . both Al and his watches, which might still be in production. He's active on an Omega-centric forum I visit occasionally, and provides invaluable technical expertise there. Stowa is currently offering a sterile B-Uhr, and there are at least a few mil...
Anyone flying under my radar will meet my Moblie LLD launchpad ! But my temper cools down quickly thanks to the one and only mind softening four-letter-word ... HAGWE Bim ...
very personal. I really like the Rolex/ Patek story, had a similar situation in Asia at a meeting, several of the big players had no idea about Vacheron Constantin and told me that WG really was not gold at all! They were all wearing YG Rolex with varying...
Going under cover... Have a great weekend everyone, take a moment to recognize those around you that bring joy and a positive benefit to your lives. Focus on the good in your life and you will be happier for it. The PuristsPro is such a place. Cheers, Tim...
I really love the MIH, every time I see one ! Have to check whether they still make some, and then consider & try to get one, hopefully soon.. Superb choice, Tim ! Best, hs
More elegant ... Few less understated .... Always loyal, always reliable .... quietly does its job ... Puts a smile on my face every single time :) ...
...worn during my years in Africa; for me this is a stealth as it can get! Plus it wakes you up in the morning! Still getting a lot of my wrist time. cheers! Alex ...
... problem like him in wearing a Rolex in the streets of Buenos Aires. So... I usually resort to some Stealth watch to use when visiting some places of my beloved (and presently rather troubled) big City. My usual stealth watch is a Swiss Army quartz wat...
... wish local robbers don´t have your horological knowledge! Lol! Though they seem to have a very keen eye for Rolex of any model!! Ahh yes! I really miss Paris! I have not visited my favorite city since 2012!! I´m not sure this year will be able to trav...
Ok, for this week's theme I had to go into the archives and yes, no GP from me this week. A stealth watch for me is a valuable and pleasurable piece that does not give away its value to the untrained eye. My almost daily companion for 10 years has been th...
I started with the then fashionable Breitling Navitimer. Did not get warm with that watch, too heavy, too big, too many of them. My second was already a GP Richeville 2750 I also then had the nice IWC Noveccento, but I got tired of the look after a few ye...
...but from the photo it's obvious that you're wasting away there Damjan - you're clearly not eating enough of that sour cream and cottage cheese stuff that somehow passes for a national delicacy in The Land of the Proud Tie-inventors... Cheers, pplater.
. . . other manufacturer in this thread. Also share a fondness for Nomos, especially the Orion, which was under consideration for my collection at one time. Art
I would see pictures of that Portuguese and think, "Elegant, but why so special?" Little did I understand about what that little tiny lever on the side initiated inside that watch. Incredible watch, Donizetti!
...just went straight onto the 'bucket list', Andreas. So: how often do you get down towards Australia??? :-) Clearly it is something which we must make happen one day. It shall be so. Cheers, pplater.
Not such a recent find, had the Benrus for over a decade. It was one of the first mil watches that really pulled me into collecting them, loved it's gruff no-nonsense approach.
Yes there was a point where you couldn't move for discussions on this watch and now it's slipped off the radar. A good time to remind ourselves why it is such a cool watch.
In this configuration, whenever I go there for meetings. Toning down the Seamaster 300 Professional on a NATO takes the 'show' out of it. Plus the profile allows it slip effortlessly under the cuff of a light weight shirt. I love it. Cheers Tony ...
.. this one was my father's watch. And today we had family lunch. I thought he wanted to join, stealthily under my sleeve. Hope he enjoyed up there, too :-) HAGWE! Ken ...
