Thank you Art for your PM and I repost here.
I remembered to take some wrist shot pictures on Thursday in the UK's glorious evening sun on the way "home" from our monthly formation practice near Stratford-upon-Avon. The cockpit is so small at shoulder height there was little room for my arm, head and camera with hands off the controls to get these! Location was 7 miles west of Banbury, Oxfordshire heading south-east. First time I flew one of these 1951 De Havilland Chipmunks in RAF training and wearing a similar issued Ξ© watch, was in May 1962. Sunset was 21:26, so time to spare to enjoy the ride and avoid the many airborne gliders doing the same.
Pictures here include a couple of the vintage aeroplane, which belongs to a friend who I pay for my flying time in it. This Chipmunk was refurbished during 2016/17 to replicate one of the two originally sold in camouflage colours to the British Army. The Chipmunk is a true "warbird" because the RAF stationed 2 others in West Berlin during the cold war for "operational requirements". The airborne photo (taken by the owner from his other aeroplane) was when I collected the Chipmunk from its refurbishment. The other photo is at "home", a private field in Oxfordshire.
