Spring has sprung. It is Watch Week on Madison Avenue in New York. And so, it was time for a road trip. Ummwell come back to this one. ;-) 4Js and I spent the afternoon boutique hopping Finally landing at my personal happy placeand here is what we saw...

And it was a revelation for me. I looked at it under the loupe and noticed the texture of the dial, which is not really visible to the naked eye. The execution of the Maltese Cross on the dial is interesting, not to mention the lovely numerals and the lug... 

I was silly to not jump on it. It has the reputation to be a bit fragile, though. I have several freinds who own it and who complained about the movement. Best, Nicolas

Between the cal. 1132 and the cal 1003, I have a clear favorite simply based on beautiful architecture, outstanding performance and history. But I am eager to learn more about the 1132.

Each time, the watch had to be sent for a service... But nothing which has not been fixed and solved by VC, in an impeccable way... Best, Nicolas

I recently had an excellent regular complete service performed on one of mine, and VC did a superb job (thank you Eduardo at the NY Boutique!), so I have not doubt that they can fix any problems that may arise. Best, respo

I have tried on the CR 1907 in the past, and it is very comfortable with quite a lot of presence on the wrist. It is the dial that is showstopper here. 4Js spent a bit more time with that one on our tour this time, so maybe he will chime in. Yes, the AP Q...

Respo and myself found the hands on the PT PT far superior to the 1972. From my perspective, the PT is a much better value. I loved the shape of the 1972 on the wrist. If this watch had improved hands and if it were guilloche versus printing, we would hav... 

But the hands on both watches look the same (sword hands, like the previous Malte Chrono). I believe it is only the LE version of the 1972 that has a printed dial. The regular version with the gold hands has a herringbone guilloché dial. I did see it in G... 

The sword hands on the Pt. Patrimony Traditionelle are faceted, with one edge polished and the other edge satin finished. It is a lovely subtle touch that appeared to be missing from the hands of the 1972 that we saw. However, what we saw in the Boutique ... 

dial is printed in both versions. The finish and frosting on the PT PT hands is to die for. 1972 hands are plain Jane, no contrast. I would be interested to see the boutique only 1972, just to compare. It was not availalbe yet. Also, I did not like the co... 

I did some further checking and you are correct about the dial. It is not guillochéd, which is disappointing. However, it does look quite good nevertheless. I see what you mean about the hands too. Hmmm...maybe it's time to reconsider the Aronde :-) All t... 

THe 1972 is to die for on your wrist. The Pt Patrimony seems to be really nice too I agree, more calssical though. Was there the "lips" 1954 rectangular watch? Another fabulous rectangular watch imho. cheers Francois
