Vacheron Constantin

No, Joseph

dial is printed in both versions.  The finish and frosting on the PT PT hands is to die for.  1972 hands are plain Jane, no contrast.  I would be interested to see the boutique only 1972, just to compare.  It was not availalbe yet.  Also, I did not like the color of the brown strap on the 1972.  Respo and I both wore gray suits, as we knew we were going to see gray dialed watches!  I had originally commented to Alex about the brown strap piece.  The boutique did say other straps could be ordered.  This is a personal matter, but I like the brown strap on my Patek slate dial piece better.  A darker and richer color, that when it wears, turns almost a dark burgundy.  Looks perfect with the suit I had on- the one with the dark purple pattern.  One other thing, just like in Alex's original post, the back of the 1972 gray dial did not have the engraving that was on the boutique only piece, at least from Alex's original post.  Alex did say production pieces of the regular edition would have the engraving.  The boutique could no comment on that.  I believe the watch needs that emblishment.  It looked great to me on line.

One other comment, we did shoot one wrist shot near sunlight.  That is where you really see the dial and imprint, versus guilloche.  I don't recall if it is posted above or not.  I will relook and post up if it is not.

All in all though, all the pieces were fantastic.  VC personnel were extremely helpful to both of us.  It was a great time.

Best,

Joe
