Well said, Champ.

The CdV also sings to me in a way that no other currently-produced chronograph does. I'm sure there's maybe an exception or two that will come to mind just as I hit the 'insert' button, but the design elements and execution of the CdV are just about perfect for me.  VC has been doing things right with their Historiques range.

Kind regards,
Dan

What if this is a Patek?

 By: CL : April 13th, 2020-14:13
I have been wearing this CDV 1955 a lot during this hunkering down period. It is a great size for my wrist and a super handsome dial to stare at. It is also a very comfortable daily wear considering that it is a stainless steel. I can't help but to compar...

Because I've never really understood the magic of the 5070. The oversized case made palatable by visual trickery, while well done, has never stood out as a particularly interesting design, I prefer the 5170 in total design. I love the CDV's very distincti...

One has the bull horn lugs and the other has the oversized step bezel. They are definitely both classic piece as they are both inspired by vintage piece. Only Dato is truly contemporary. 5170 is very Patek, very discreet and very calatrava-ish. It wears n...

Apart from sharing the same movement, the 5070, and I say this as a lover of Patek. has been terribly over rated. Way too large and this is confirmed when one looks at the movement and notices that the case is so much larger than the movement. The Lemania...

 By: CL : April 13th, 2020-18:58
what will happen if Patek's 5170 was launched as 38mm, two tone watch with Bregeut numerals? Or, better still, a stainless steel version only. That will be impossible to beat and difficult to afford.

I agree!

 By: sham1 : April 13th, 2020-19:11
Which is why the 7150/250R is the best Patek chronograph is for me in decades. Not only is it 38mm and the movement fills up the case beautifully but the dial is near perfect. Take away the diamonds and the waiting list will be Nautilus long! ...

Patek has a winner in the 7150/250R. Remove the diamonds and it will sell like hot cakes in any metal. The case back is a block sapphire crystal and makes the movement look even better.

With this dial and size, you should compare it to the 5170, and here I would vote for the Vacheron. Between this VC and the 5070, I would vote for the 5070.
