I know which was the watch for me... the San Marco GMT. It was this watch (though I remember it having baguettes) primarily because it was the first Ulysse I ever saw in the metal. It had a great complication, and for me back in the early 2000s when I had very little experience with timepieces it deeply impressed me. Later on the Freak took my appreciation of UN to a whole ‘nother level.

Freak, 160, Sonata
I own a Freak, had the 160 many years. Never owned a Sonata, but lusted for a Silicium. What a piece.
Don't get me wrong, Sonata is very nice, but my grail would be able to:
Set two separate alarms, so I could leave one always on (e.g., 9:00 every day) and also sometimes set a second alarm as needed (just today, I also need a 12:00 alarm). With only one alarm, you have to change your intermittent alarm back to the daily alarm...
For me, the San Marcos with the blue enamel dials and the Trilogy, both from the 90s.
Beyond reach for a student... But after that, the Maxi Marine Divers, the Freaks, the Perpetuals (as you've pictured), and the Sonata. UN has such a rich diversity of watches. Interesting question that generated a lot of good remembrances. Cheers, John

This led to discovering the perpetual Ludwig, Marine Chronometer and Tellurium.

In the late 90s and early 2000s UN was my favorite brand. First one for me was a white dialed annual calemdar chronograph, then I got a blue San Marco Dual Time, then a Blue Max followed
