Yes. But mine was with Miss Linda at L'Atelier, a watch boutique in ION Orchard mall.

Great hotels can be memorable.  But I had a great buying experience.

I wanted this really cool horological device, but it was from one of those small independent manufacturers so there aren't that many around.

So I emailed the manufacturer vendor said that one of these horological pieces was available for sale at my local store in California (whom will not be named because that local store isn't very good) and one in Singapore.

Wow...  I'm so glad I did.  We communicated via email, Miss Linda, the senior sales representative confirmed availability, tested the piece to make sure it worked, took videos and photos for me to show me that the piece was in excellent condition, and so on.  I gave her my one last concern which was to find a gigantic box and to package everything so if the airline prevented me from carrying it on then I could check the box. Miss Linda had a custom box made by a shipping/crating company before my arrival.

I flew into Singapore for two days and one night to complete the transaction. Everything went without a hitch.  I ended up using the custom made cardboard box.  Miss Linda also registered me with the mall's VIP program where I got massive points to treat a few WatchProSite members in Singapore to lunch.  There was even some money left over.  Miss Linda was then worried about me getting to the airport, so she had the ION Orchard Shopping Mall management team provide me with a car service to get to the airport.

I'm looking forward to buying another horological piece from L'Atelier, one of the Hour Glass flagship concept stores in Singapore's ION Orchard Mall (one of the finest malls in Singapore).

Overall, the beauty of buying something in Singapore, especially with Miss Linda, is 1, you're working with a true professional; 2, Miss Linda is extremely resourceful and intelligent, that resourcefulness and intelligence is not a common theme even in high end retail; 3, Miss Linda used the shopping mall's resources to make sure I fully capitalized upon the benefits of the mall's VIP shopper program; 4, Miss Linda didn't take shortcuts, went above and beyond, and had empathy for an out of country buyer.  She took photos, videos, made condition reports, she was thorough; her thoroughness put me at ease because it let me know that I was working with a consummate professional.  5, most sales associates make suggestions like "that watch looks great with your outfit, you should buy it" but don't get much deeper than that, Miss Linda never made any assumptions and never said anything superficial.

The experience above and meeting with a few awesome WatchProSite members from Singapore are my fondest memories of Singapore!  It's a great place!

It was more of a business occurrence and in recent years I’ve tried to keep evenings to myself when in SG.

Yes, I knew that.

It was (is) a solid consistent restaurant. But I have not bothered with high end in SG on the last several trips so have not been to the new location.
