but for me, if I’m not willing to/able to put in the time it deserves for some proficiency, then I shouldn’t do it. At least that’s my personal view of what it deserves from me.

It definitely takes a while to build up that myelination in the brain, along with motor-skill memory. I beat myself up when I can't go to the range more than once in a few months. I prefer doing it at least twice a month....

I do the same, my carry gun of choice is my Kimber Ultra carry in .45 ACP.

God forbid you ever need it, it will do the job better than the .380. That’s for sure.

The Ultra Carry is very compact and quite concealable.

I bought it for the lightweight factor. I was carrying Ruger SR1911 Commander in all steel, the weight was just too much. The Ultra Carry with a full magazine is still lightweight. Loaded with 230 gr. hollow points.

My father taught all his children how to shoot and safety since I was 8 or 9 years old. Sports shooting is all we used to do. Just for fun. I taught my kids the same. It’s a family outing for us.
