Sushi!

 

Mrs. CaliforniaJed took me to our favorite sushi restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We've enjoyed Ediie-san's creations for almost 10 years. I only had my phone with which to capture the meal, but I wanted to share.

We were treated to the following, in order:

1. Halibut Foie Gras.
2. Blue Fin Sushi.
3. Yellowtail Toro Sushi.
4. Karei Karaage.
5. Red Snapper Sushi.
6. Live Uni.
7. Live Scallop Sushi.
8. Live Scallop with Smoked Foie Gras.
9. Live Scallop Dynamite.  (Never waste nothing, Eddie-san says!)
10. Dessert!

I am now, officially in sushi nirvana!

Too much hype around the Nobu esque establishent. We have places where the sushi is first class but not innovative like Eddie-san. Bill

-licious looking. And oh my goodness... everything was so artistic and colorful... I think I can even smell it... (lol, I cooked blue crabs tonight... that helped with imagining the savor... lol) It all looks so excellent! And Happiest of Birthdays to you...

The sushi bar is in our neighborhood-- we could walk there in fact but the walk back may not be pleasant. When we're there, we truly relax, and indulge. Last night was no exception. Enjoy the weekend. Hope to see you soon. Best, CaliforniaJed

I cannot compare this sushi to Sydney's offerings, but in my book, it is truly outstanding. We don't go often, so it is a real treat when we do. Enjoy the weekend! Best, CaliforniaJed

I'm pretty sure Eddie-san said that the flounder had been flown in from France! I did a quick google - I think "karaage" means whole-fried. Perhaps "Karei" is the Japanese word for Flounder? Best, CaliforniaJed
