Many are forgotten
Those not mentioned in the movies are no less heroes than those who have been mentioned
And let’s never forget the other crew members, ground staff, support staff, forward air controllers working behind enemy lines to direct the pilots etccetc who also made huge sacrifices just to get the guys airborne.
And a special, very special salute to the special forces guys, navy seals, marines etc who went behind enemy lines and risked their lives to rescue pilots that were shot down in enemy territory.
Their actions are often classified but as former pilot I can state that these guys are very very special.
In short: I salute all men and women who served to defend our democracy and freedom, both back then up to today.

the many pilots from the USA who either volunteered and became part of the Eagle Squadron and those who went to Canada and joined the RCAF. And that was before America got into the war. JB (Toronto, Canada)
