Looters here are not from NYC. They come from other places. I'm sure there must be an empirical study somewhere about looting. With mobile phones it should be easy to see where people travelled from. I'm just going to make an unsubstantiated statement that people generally don't want to destroy their own neighborhoods and loot stores where they may work, or even own. Sad state of affairs when people come from far away to destroy things and cause chaos. Does looting change things for the better?
I'm not making a political statement. Just not happy with the state of the world. Hate and destruction has become the default state of being. Denial of responsibility too. From the top.

Everything that the insurance company deems of value is required to be packed away at night... But store fixtures, decorations, etc. which are worth thousands are definitely removable! Looters got San Francisco's luxurious Union Square very badly.

Have you seen the size of the safes in good modern AD's I highly doubt they would be able to make off with one or for that matter manage to gain access to one either. Marc

What was done to Mr. Floyd was inexcusable and horrific. But one injustice does not correct another. You can make a point non-violently research Martin Luther King if need be.
