I have not had a good experience with John Lobb
Aug 25, 2020,11:40 AM
I have ordered two pairs of bespoke shoes from the John Lobb in Saint Jame’s Street in London. Both pair had problems that necessitated their being returned to London for further work. That is a major annoyance to have to send your ( very expensive) bespoke shoes to London from Los Angeles . For the kind of money that they demand, those shoes should be structurally sound for quite some time. I was embarrassed.
I have had much better results with Gaziano &Ghirling bespoke shoes. They have a proper showroom on Saville Row.
Next time I am in London , I may give Cleverly a try.

Edward Green "Galway" boots in snuff suede made on an 82 last. Because of my model physique, which includes also model feet, they perfectly fit: note all vamp/leather is closing fully! ...
Thank you, DarrenKats.

I have got only 202 last EG, but the 82 is also fitting very well. Once these are well worn and old, I will change the sole to Commando Soles !
Sounds like you have got also some?

They are not only beautiful and elegant, but also very, very comfortable to wear: true glove fit!
You can not have too many English shoes!

I was going through the shoe closets and found these out of sight (and mind!). JL is my favorite but I find some EGs very elegant. ...

The sole came loose! I had worn the shoes for a couple of months, maybe a couple of dozen times. The sole on one of them came loose and I had to send it back to London for repair. This was a pair of shoes that cost about $6000.00 U.S. back in 2012. The sh...

great english shoes last a long lifetime. I had many of mine re-soled, till the point where the top leather started to crack away, and it cannot be resoled any further. I really enjoy a good pair of handmade shoes. Great looking boots you have there.
You are lucky to have model feet
By: Cookies : August 25th, 2020-12:45
I have slightly wider feet, and once, bought a Garziano and Girling pair which is gorgeous, but caused me painful bunionettes flares. I should have checked the fit before buying it. I don't wear it anymore. But it is still gorgeous to look at sitting in m...
I like Crockett and Jones.

I bought a pair of their very top quality shoes in London several years ago and they are great. I wear them frequently and they are a pleasure to own.
Yes, it is
By: Cookies : August 25th, 2020-13:04
They are the quintessential British shoe to own. Lovely classic design, and the leathers are good quality. I have not tried their made-of-measure series but saw a catalogue of leathers at the shop for C&J...this could be the answer to my next pair too. By...

I love my C & J boots.
C&J are very good in terms of value for money
By: COUNT DE MONET : August 25th, 2020-13:01
Majority of mine are C&J, and you are saying theire boots are very good. I like your attitude: if a shoe hurts, you can still look them only.👍

I enjoy shining the shoes once in a while, especially as a form of stress therapy. Have a great week Count.

John Lobb in Saint James Street is getting by on their name and a reputation built upon the labors of people that have long-since retired. I won’t order from them again.
Love the Galways

This is such an unusual combination, but works really well. EG is awesome, shame they have lost the plot on pricing for the past few years.
Thank you Boris. That is true, pricing is gone mad at EG
By: COUNT DE MONET : August 25th, 2020-23:10
However, have you noticed that EG has reduced prices at theire online shop, just for a brief time? I was expecting that to happen with any online shop of luxury shoes due to the pandemic.
