I gather from AndrewD that Melbourne...
...is a great foodie town because you have a wide variety of peoples who have settled there, which has resulted in a diverse culinary scene. I would love to visit one day. The closest I've gotten to trying Melbourne's restaurants is watching culinary travel shows on Food Network! One day I'll make it to Australia!
Glad you had a good time visiting the US. Next time you'll have to let the LA PuristS know if you're in town. I enjoy meeting fellow PuristS in person.

The dumpling and noodles look very tasty! Usually we get cold noodles (naeng myun) with Korean BBQ, or Mandoo and jajang myun ( which is like the Chinese Mandarin Ja Jiang Mein). Your post makes me want to go for Korean for dinner! -MW
I also like the noodles with black bean sauce...

We were planning to go to Momofuku on one of those nights, but spent too long up on observation deck at the Empire State Building for a night view of NY and it was getting late ,so detoured by foot to Little Korea, just 5 minutes walk away. Looking forwar...
Too long isn't long enough in my opinion on that deck.

I JUST finished pigging out on fish filet w/
vegetables, and beef stew w/ turnips - two of my favorite Chinese dishes from this hole-in-wall place in Chinatown. But after viewing your post, I am hungry again. Dang ! ! ! ! Must try out your place soon.

Thank you Daos! Most people associate Korean with BBQ but there are many different variations and we love them all! In my predominantly Korean 'hood, we are blessed to be close to some pretty good Korean fare without venturing to K-town! but we may visit ...
