I'm not big on driverless cars. Regarding safety for everyone on or near a road all we'd have to do to greatly increase it would be to make cell phones inoperable if it's within reach of the
driver. Even voice controlled operation (like apple CarPlay using Siri) is distracting but probably less distracting than a couple of screaming kids which we're not going to outlaw. Don't know what the answer is but do know I felt much safer driving, cycling or as a pedestrian before the advent of cell phones.
What's worse than a car with an LA driver............a car in LA with no driver???
We see these Waymo things around LA all the time now. Still don't trust them. And don't get me started on these things. LOL ...

I will add though, that the incidence of scoff-law drivers has greatly increased since Covid. And cyclists - don't get me started on the completely irresponsible cyclists around here!
