Well I suppose I do tend to lean towards more modern, chic, fashionable sort of places, but still want somewhere quite luxurious and in an area that is generally convenient for the first time tourist I guess? That would involve being near interesting sites, shopping districts, good restaurants etc. Not really too much of a fan of old world exuberance, although I don't mind it. However, I cannot stand hotels that are just old, ie in need of renovation because they have dated 1980's designs if you know what I mean!

At least during your stay try @ The Peninsula Tokyo, Ginza Area. I could say the service is top notch,room is huge especially if you re traveling with your spouse, , and opt for the imperial palace view, you wouldn't get disappointed. Rgds
