TimeOut

A lucky find

That was painted on a large piece of white paper, off a roll, the kind they use to cover banquet tables.

It was in the closet in a classroom at the school where my wife taught. It had been part of a large theatre backdrop, painted in the 80’s by 5-6th graders, and was supposed to be Shakespeare’s eyes:

It was auctioned off at a fund-raising event. I lost to another guy who put the painting into a Lucite box to preserve it. He invited me to take a photo, so I got a high-resolution image and had it printed actual size on canvas. That was more than 20 years ago. I used to have it in my office but the ladies said it was too intimidating (watching them) so I brought it home and it guards the front door.

It's about 2x 3 feet in size.
