The watch on rubber tropical strap looks even better than on the OEM one.

The tropic strap looks fantastic and is faithful to the original. I have one ordered and on the way.

I'm even impressed with the embossed markers - that they can achieve such a sharp edge to them. Cheers JML

I ordered one yesterday and it is on its way. Thanks for sharing the pics, the 017 is lovely!

Note that the true old-stock Tropics all seem to have curved lugs (as did the ones I once owned). You'll need flat lugged straps for this, so the $35 modern silicone should be fine. I'm using one on mine, and it's nearly as nice as the original NOS. The N...

What's the lug width for this model? I wonder if it's the same as for the general population sbdc051

As these closeup pics shows, consider it isn't Grand Seiko. I am actually very much interested in another Seiko diving watch, the MM300.
