Seiko

I have one GS the SBGR095 (62GS reissue) from a few years ago

 

and I can attest under a 10X loupe the hands and dials (esp indices) are cut with laser precision and perfect. 10/10 with no flaws. Sadly I can't say that for any of my Rolex, Omega, Panerai, Blancpain, or IWC. I think my only modern JLC (TT Geophysic 1958) comes close: 9/10.

Especially in the hands - the difference is obvious as to who takes the most care in shaping and polishing them.

I have a few Grand Seiko’s and when recently I was at an AD, looking at a PP QP piece under a loupe, the finishing of the hands and dripping paint really put me off. I was there with a fellow Purist and both of us were surprised that the kind of work coul...
