Honestly

I don't know what it is but there has not been a watch for a long long time from any brand that has me lusting for it like this one! I have been thinking about it and man did seiko nail this piece. It's unique, it looks amazing, it has drilled lugs for ease of strap changes but also adds an old school appeal. The movement is top grade! This is a classic beyond classic. I was able to buy the sbdc051 which is also great bang for buck and gives this some of look but is just not the same!!!

From Dress to Desk Diving - the SLA017

 By: Greenwatch : July 6th, 2017-06:34
I never thought that I'll be looking at acquiring a current Seiko diver watch due to the huge size and heft found on the existing models. That is until this reissue came along which generated a lot of buzz and reactions from various Watch fora. While I wa...

I'm glad you got your diver! It'll be hard to get down the road, I think. Looks great on your wrist. I had the 62MAS previously, and so I decided to get three of these SLA017s. Wanted to ask you about the stamp on your metal bracelet? Does it just say "" ...

Mine is

stamped on the bracelet. The series is a 1700+ bought from a Seiko boutique. Hope this helps!

congrats!

I'm still waiting for mine and yes, I am worried the silicone strap collects dust and dirt easily. Will probably switch to the bracelet instead.

Thanks Mark and beerstyle...

I'll get back to you on your question. I stashed away the bracelet as I don't intend to use it. My series is a 1700+ version. Hope this helps!

Looks impressive

The dial looks great - think I'd be relaxed about strap. But I'm with you on not putting it on a bracelet - mainly as not a huge fan of them, but also it looks great on a strap. Enjoy wearing it JML

Truly a great re-issue you got!

Congratulations on your latest acquisition! I really need to find a way to see this in the metal - I mean I truly do not need a diver but it would be such a shame to miss it at the same time. I hope that it will be easier making the right decision after t...

Just sharing a story here: I was visiting a Jewelry store in Seattle today. Had a conversation with the store manager in charge of Rolex. He saw my SLA017 and told me he thought I was wearing a vintage piece. I love this piece!

Oh yea for sure!
