This is most certainly where Seiko’s renaissance started. Superb watch and no wonder you wear it every day 👌🏻

I think we need to recognize this series of watches as the beginning of a renaissance of Seiko's mid-price watches. They cleverly got us from the $100-400 price band up towards $1000-1500 without impacting the higher tier of divers and Grand Seikos. How? ... 

I think your analysis is pretty much spot on. I have another Presage Seiko & it's almost exactly the same other than the dial - the premium for the urushi dial was almost 100%. Which I was more than ok with. I think some of the newer ones are starting to ... 

After all,it's the dial that attracts our initial attention,and coupled with a reasonable movement or function like date,power reserve,is a winning strategy. However, i think you can overdo a good thing,and as they flood the market with more 'interesting'...

Impressive that you found a wristwatch that you can build so many memories with.

A lovely piece, btw, and so many have obviously agreed with you. A wildly popular release. And I'm so glad to hear of someone who has found that "one" watch. It may not be forever, but that this deep satisfaction has lasted so long is—in my mind, at least... 

Hi Well they're not battle scars in truest sense, just a myriad of little scratches that come with wearing a watch - if you want it to be pristine, don't wear it , but that's no fun. So would I get it polished - I think so, to bring it back to how it was.... 

. . . and wearing his urushi. It was mine many years ago; today, the PADI represents modern Seiko in my collection. At least the urushi's still in the family! Best, Art ...  

They both look great in the sun. PADI has a lot of appeal too. Cheers JML
