In fact, I'm even crazy about the bracelet rubbing internally. So I always arrange my bracelet in a way that nothing will rub on itself, including taking into account that crown logo.
The Daytona has similar issue if one is not careful.
The clasp when opened to the full, after multiple opening the edge can make a mark on the very link that has a contact.
i think Rolex didn't bother too much....as a president any ways one creates dents/scratches in the system ;-)

It is not a bug, it is a feature
Don’t worry. This is built in by Rolex to indicate whether a watch is NOS/unworn or not. All Day-Date lovers wear this watch and they can identify themselves at exactly this “indicator”.
