Rolex

Tudor 7021 snowflake.

While the sun was out this morning I though I would take a couple of pictures of my Tudor 7021. (black dial, red/black date wheel)
This watch was purchased from the son of R W Eastaugh the team leader of the Pisces ii Vickers ltd mini submarine. Mr Eastaugh told me his dad was given this watch by Rolex/Tudor for his involvement in the Pisces iii disaster in 1973 in which Robert (Bob) Eastaugh's mini sub the Pisces ii was involved in the rescue. The Pisces iii was sent to the bottom of the ocean after a cable broke. Full story here> www.bbc.co.uk
Bob Eastaugh was also involved in the raising of the Russian nuclear submarine the Kursk too, I have asked for the full story regarding this from his son who is going to send me more information. On a lighter note Bob was also involved in the search for the Loch Ness monster using the Pisces on board sonar to investigate the Loch in 1969, Bob was also a bit of a treasure hunter using the mini sub to investigate and recover salvage from ship wrecks.
I am in the process of finding out as much as I can regarding the history of the original owner and the watch which I find fascinating, I am not sure how much deep sea action the watch has seen, it doesn't look like it has seen much action but who knows? I am very happy to own this one.
Thanks Mick
