So, there’s a choice today. You can have one of these, 16520, steel case with either the black or white dial OR you could have a modern precious metal (not PT) Daytona. What do you do? And a second question, if you already had the below watch would you ad...

Keep the 16520 Black Dial. Acquire the 16520 White dial. Own the pair.

I have the SS 116520 White and Black dial pair. So I may be a little biased.

Never a question of selling anything.

The pair would be nice, assuming I could find a good one. But I’m still a little tempted by the modern Oysterflex as it gives you something different.

Have both whites...

The 16520 Zenith and the new ceramic bezel Daytona in steel. As I get a bit older I find the legibility of the white dials a bit better. Given where pricing and value sits today, I’ve been tempted to cash in and get myself another PP or FPJ time only piec...

I agree, you should have one, we all should!

It’s THE chronograph in my opinion. The two whites are a nice pair.

I hear you. And for me it’s one of my favourite watches.

The only reasons I’m thinking about the newer Daytona is 1) to have a WG or RG and/or 2) the Oysterflex.

Get 116520 black dial [nt]

Hi Sean, I’m not really interested in the modern steel, only gold.

I am certain if I was to add another steel it would only be the 16520 White.

My decision: yin & yang

16520 A-series But to be honest: i could not decide between black or white dial ...

I also like the Daytona 116519LN

I would like to own, but i am not sure if i would trade for a 16520 Picture credit: ...

Choices.

The white 16520 is still one of the best looking Daytonas ever, for me. If you ask me about modern Daytonas, the WG Oysterflex has no rival. Vte

The Oysterflex is something I’ve been thinking hard about. WG or RG.

Overall, I think the WG is the best looking of the bunch, and most versatile. However, the Oysterflex also allows one to go coloured gold while still not catching everyone’s eyes.

Black vor me

and in Rolex chrono I stop at the 5 digits ... ...

I would definitely keep this over any current Daytona

Also, I do own a black 16520 and would much prefer acquiring a white one to complement it over a current WG or RG Daytona. Which is kind of what I did, except that it is a white 116520. To be more precise: I acquired the white 116520 in 2010, and the blac...

Hah!

So it’s interesting that this is what I started out wanting, the WG. However I’m now leaning more toward the RG Oysterflex.
