The magic of 36mm
I was brought up on 36mm ever since my father gave me his Explorer 1016 when I was 14. Recently I was able to add another Rolex with this wonderful size to my collection: my first Datejust 6305/1.
The watch appears hardly worn and came with boxes and papers, dating it to 1955.
It is now one of my favorites among the small cases:

...beautiful, I guess. However, at the time, 36mm definitely was not small, with the standards Patek size being 33mm. I appreciate my dress watches like DJ, DD or my Patek 5035 in 36mm. And for sports watches I do not feel comfortable beyond the classic 4...
