Speculation: A new Kermit coming soon?
There are no better watch enthusiasts than Rolex enthusiasts for speculation about potential new releases and discontinued pieces.
Reading some of the threads elsewhere I see the perennial prediction of the Hulks discontinuation. We’ve been hearing that for several years now.
Alongside this I’ve seen some speculation of the introduction of a new Kermit. I think that’d be pretty cool, I’ve always been a fan (see below, today’s wrist candy).
Also, for several years I pondered buying a regular Sub so as I could switch bezels with my Hulk and therefore create a ceramic Kermit. I’ve seen several collectors who have done so.
All that said, I still prefer the older case and slimmer lugs.

A bigger watch would be of little interest.
Even my Hulk is a little on the beefy side for me, I’m definitely more of a fan of the older cases. We will know soon. At least there’s some buzz again with the events in Geneva and Rolex announcing next week.
I agree. This is in my opinion the best modern sub iteration. I think the current sub should have just retained the 5 digit's case dimensions, upgraded the movt to a 3 day one, upgraded the bracelet to glidelock..
and last but not least, introduced the maxi dial from the kermit to its regular line-up. Then it would have been very easy for me to get off the fence. Barring this one, I think the last best looking subs were the 4 digit refs (5512, 1680).. but then I'm ...

I keep reading whispers that this year there will be "significant" news, maybe a new sub and explorer. Enjoy your Kermit as is, it is cool

I do remember the first time I saw the Kermit. A lady who ran the shop for a tailor in Hong Kong had one; that was early 2004. It was cool, and it was also interesting to see it on a ladies wrist as it wasn’t that common at the time for ladies to wear Sub...

You mean if they have a new Kermit?
It’s all random speculation, one of the other things Rolex does well is keep a lid on new product releases.
While I prefer the slimmer lugs and shade of green of the bezel of the Kermit,
I prefer the dial, ceramic bezel insert and glidelock bracelet of the Hulk. It would be interesting to see what a new (reimagined) Kermit would look like. Not long to go now...
