From what i know. A total of more then 1000 bidders worlwide incl internet bidders where involve on mondays auction. I am one of them ( and a luck winner too.....yeaaahhhh my first ever Rolex) It was a very hot atmosphere. All the big boys where bidding . These auction present THE BEST overall rolex watches ever offered on auction. So many beautiful pcs. Hence the high prices.
I doubt these result will be consistantly repeated. As i feel we will never see such a wide range of Top quality vintage rolex again in one auction.. The conditions where ripe for good prices.

What are being paid behind the scene. Most, if not all, great watches are usually bought by word of mouth from dealers, collectors, friends....I doubt they are trading hands for this obscene kind of money..... Remember the good ole days when you could buy...
