Rolex 1655 Explorer II in Auvergne. A combination I dreamt about for a long time.

Since my childhood, these ads made me dream. 






Especially this one, with Haroun Tazieff and the volcanoes:


That's why it was natural for me to bring the Rolex Explorer II 1655 with me, in Auvergne, the " volcanoes kingdom ". 

And that's why this shot is very dear to me: 




Here at a lake, near volcanoes:




It is obvious that watches bring a little bit of something, extra pleasure, in such moments...

As for the exp 2 itself, for my tastes, itโ€™s the one of the very few pieces in the rolex lineup that has yet to do a good job of evolving from the 5 digit references. The sub has shed a mm or 2 off its controversial fat lugs. The explorer has returned to ...

I too recall reading Rolex adverts in my grandfathers National Geographics back in the 1970s. Many happy memories and this really fuelled my watch passion.
