Do you much about the history of the watch seeing as it has been in your family for so long? What happened to it with regards to the dial and crown? A very uncommon watch you have there.

It's a long story, spanning more than 7 decades.. So, long story short, it belonged to a grand uncle in France, who passed away in a car crash in the 60's, was given to my dad, who passed away early 90's. My dad's best friend helped to sell the watch as m... 

of writing down as much of the history as possible and keeping the story with the watch for future generations. It's so rare that such a complete history accompanies a watch, it would be a shame for it to be forgotten.

But watch is keeping good time, still working, although lots of parts are worn, and fragile...

I did notice the missing screw but I wasn't sure on commenting about it
