My thoughts about my Tudor BB

Sep 02, 2020,04:19 AM

It reminds me of the vintage submariners, aside from the thickness of the non-58 versions. I much prefer the aluminium bezels to ceramic ones. Actually, I like the blue-black white gold submariner, but it is out-pf-reach to me, so I’ll just enjoy the BB as a homage to it.
I am a Rolex fan, but like Jocke said, those days are waning, because I know Rolex can bring back the old days where we can walk into a store and buy most sports models, but they chose not to; and instead almost relegated me to become a beggar to my AD which I find superficial. I will not buy coffee or gifts to win the favour of ADs just for a Rolex - my dignity is worth more.
Seeing the pictures of fans lining up outside the Rolex boutiques make me cringe. I reminds me of the PRCs who line up outside LV shops worldwide just to buy a bag. Real luxury has dignity to it, but Rolex has somehow brought about a situation where I must compromise it to get on a waitlist, or choose to pay 30% more for a grey market piece which I have to authenticate once more. Phew!
My eyes are on the GO seaQ and the Omega ceramic seamaster now.=)

"this year's Rolex releases is a harbinger of Rolex eventually "upbranding" Tudor in years soon to come"

I’m going scuba diving tmr with the blackbay again. This time I insisted the dive instructor should remember his underwater camera. Will post pics of fishes and corals tmr.

To my eye the new Sub 41 has lugs which are now in the same proportion to the GMT, which has always had thinner lugs than the Sub

I haven’t measured it but that’s the way it looks to me. So, there may be no need to upsize the “supercase” of the GMT to 41mm.
