More Daytona
Seeing ssdaytona’s Patrizzi post a few days ago inspired me to go grab my 16520 (not a Patrizzi however).
It’s a very important and core watch in my collection. It some respects the perfect Rolex. (Many Daytona can possibly fit that description for collectors). I say this based purely on the emotional, the feeling one gets from a watch on the wrist. Despite being fortunate enough to have strapped on a number of important or technically impressive or superbly finished or some that may be described as all three of those a Rolex (and this Rolex) illicits a unmatched feeling.
One can never discount the power of a brand. Rolex have done an unparalleled job.

The white version, the black was for city dwellers, Oh Parisien RMLOL
This is what I was trying to articulate, but also to add that Rolex the brand has influenced that appeal too.
There’s a level of satisfaction that numerous (objectively) better watches cannot match.

The 16520 started it all for me.
Although my 6263 is my favourite Rolex the 16520 has a very special place in my heart. Although I’ve never really been a black dial fan I do wish I’d kept some of the black dial 16520’s I’ve owned. Such a very cool watch. Enjoy your beauty. M.
While values differ greatly, I don’t think any other Daytona would give me the same level of satisfaction.
It’s hard to articulate why, but it’s just so.
