Rolex

Jens, I don’t have a pick from the two as this is beyond my knowledge base and comfort zone.

But what I see are two watches which may have questions about parts and originality.

The GMT seems to be the more openly acknowledged for service parts (bezel, hands) and other changes (re-lume).  With those disclosed it seems the knowledge on this forum is still choosing the GMT.

The Sub, at first appears more interesting given the papers etc. But there is a question about the bracelet, and above a question about the dial.  I think you need some additional eyes on this one to be sure that you are comparing these watches fairly.

While I understand all I have said is part of the “fun” (read : challenge) of vintage collecting I don’t believe I could ever trust myself or anyone else enough to have the conviction here.

Good luck with your choice.  You are doing the right thing by canvassing broader opinions.
