Is it possible that a bezel from a 6536 was used ?
The pictures show that Bond’s watch was a big crown.
By the other hand I found a picture of a 6538 BG with a four line dial and a similar no hash bezel.
It could be possible that very early Subs were equipped with both bezel types??

The mystery for me is the bezel. I does not look like a red triangle. No hash marks between 0-15 on the bezel.
Maybe even no pearl type early bezel. Could be 6536?

We can clearly see the pip on this shot but again no hash marks 0-15
Also the 6 o'clock marker in not a different shade like the 5510. ...

A 16mm strap on 20mm lugs is not cool, it just shows, that the person simply did not care… 🤷🏼♂️

My vote goes to the 6536 small crown with no hash marks bezel.
I think the nato strap was used as a convenient fit assuming the bracelet was too big. Rolex 6536 no has marks bezel ...

Found a couple of instances in the Internet!
I believe that red triangles started to be used in 57!
It seems the no hash with and without red triangle seem to overlap in 1957.
It seem the red triangle goes to 1959.

From 1959, the red triangle, you can also find it on the Tudor 7924 insert... Which confirms your hypothesis. ...
