I have a relationship with a couple of dealers and am thinking about submitting a request for one of the following: White dialed Explorer II (co-worker has one and I really like it) Sub no-date (classic?) Pepsi GMT (a friend’s Dad has one and it looks gre... 

Really like the new matte white dial and matte black on the markers and hands. Not a big fan of the other two in their current forms, even though I own the pepsi GMT. The glossy dial cheapens the look in my opinion, which starts to bother me after wearing...

I *love* the looks of the current Polar and not so much the other two. HOWEVER: Isn't the Pepsi GMT the by-far most highly-valued of those three, and thus, the best one to buy retail? You can flip it, buy a nice clean Polar, and profit!

That being said I’m not looking to flip anything, I just want to buy something that will be a keeper. Thank you for your thoughts!

You’ve an explorer in your collection & GMT is a great complement to it. Explorer II is a good choice too but GMT is a tad above imho. Sub no-date is classic but if you’ve an explorer 1 it is already quintessential Rolex. Best, Mahesh.,

I preferred the Pepsi to the Batman, but the other day I got a new appreciation for the Caped Crusader. I went with some college students for a (slow) run and at the end noticed that one of them was wearing a Batman (on a Jubilee, as it should be). I chat... 

have thought about which Rolex if only one. For me the GMT…but only because I own three Seamasters and prefer them to the Sub and like the Rolex GMT a little more than my Omega GMT..BUT…if you are only buying one Rolex…perhaps the no date Sub as no matter... 

I used to have a Seamaster but it was the smaller version. If I’d gotten the full sized version I’d probably still have it. Kinda humid here in S. Florida but I should wear this one more often. ...  

There is plenty of information about Rolexes out there, but I value the opinion of the folks on this forum who may have made a similar decision.

Red and blue bezel provide plenty of eye-candy, GMT (which means having a date window is not only necessary but also useful), waterproof for any kind of swimming you'll do - it's the ultimate go anywhere, do anything watch!

As you point out, it is a classic, and can easily qualify as a one watch for many. Each of the mentioned pieces has their own character, so the Sub is perhaps more subdued than the others, relatively speaking. But especially with no date, it’s an easy wea... 

And I’m a little surprised at all of the votes for the GMT. But I guess that’s why I posted my question here: to get different opinions.

offered. It is still a tough market to source new Rolex sports models from ADs. You cannot go wrong with any of them.

But it’s kinda sad that we have to take “the first offered” when spending around $10K on a watch, no?
