I worked with a guy who wanted a Rolex really bad.
When he saw my DateJust he asked to see it, I didn't see the harm in it.
UNTIL he dropped it, fortunately I caught it before it hit the floor. Lesson learned,
from that point forward I DO NOT remove any watch I am wearing for someone
to look at, don't care how much they beg. Look at it on my wrist or buy your own to
look at. To this day when take a watch off I ALWAYS lay it on a soft cloth, never directly
on a hard surface. Anal?? Maybe.

I think for me it will be handing the watch only if I know the person to be an enthusiast. If not, best to err on the side of caution and just leave it on the wrist and at an appropriate distance away. 😉

Uh oh . I have been cleaning my watches on whatever is handy for my whole life . We live near the coast so my watches are typically covered in saltwater daily. I actually never thought about it. I wear mostly divers though - AP , Rolex , Sinn.
