Hola
I recently discovered that not only they used
Radium as lume But also strontium 90 as lume on the dials.
Switserland used to export strontium 90 for
Medicinal use and for lume . In the late 1950 simport and use of strontium was forbidden in the USA.
Actually it was not the radium which was there biggest concern but strontium
.
The Swiss goverment then sold it to the watch industry for lume .
.
That is when you start to see underlines and dot for the us market and double underline as confirmation of the first underline.
.
After obeserving varios lume and vintage watches
I noticed that strontium lume in dial convertd Into dark green grey brown matter and so does the dial. But glow stays very potent with strontium 90
.
Added to pictures of Strontium lume dials .
