I feel that wearing it without its Oyster bracelet takes off some of its "Rolex identity" which is something desirable while walking in some places in my city or in certain situations here.
It is a tough and reliable watch that though lacking the charm of my vintage Subs still mantains the enjoyment of wearing a Rolex diver watch.
Regarding your nice Explorer, I feel that it is one example of the rare "black out" version of this watch. I also own a modern Explorer (regular version) which I also employ as a go-to Rolex sometimes.
