It just goes to show how well the rounded bezel fits on that case. All of the other sections are so flat that the round bezel creates an interesting contrast that enhances the visual impact.
Now, the only (very slight) knock I have on the case is that the lugs and the center of the solid end link are a bit long, and the watch wears larger than a 39mm one. It wears perhaps more like a 40-40.5mm watch. But that's being really nitpicky, and a matter of personal preference. I also wish they would use chromalight on the indices instead of superluminova.
In any case, well done on picking this model.

Precisely why I wear my 36mm "older" DateJust. I already own it so no waiting, goes with everything from jeans/tee-shirt to my best suit. Still gets a lot of second looks
and a few compliments also. I have several watches but this is the one I wear the most, even more than my Submariner.

In fact the 36mm datejust and the 37mm Yachtmaster with steel and platinum are among my favourite Rolexes.

I agree with you on the bezel of the Explo 1... it is a detail but it looks weird. I went with OP39 in black because of the nice size and the brushed case: I am not too keen on the shiny finish of the Datejust, but it remains a perfectly fine choice
Yes for me the DJ is perfect but a little too small on my wrist ...
And i confirm for the OP 39 ... A nice watch in a perfect size !! ...

I saw it a few times at various AD's, and it is a very nice model. Understated, with just a bit of pop with the blue dial. Having so many models on Oyster bracelet, I am quite drawn by the new Jubilee bracelet of the DJ. I must be getting old...
Well to be honest....
Imho the new 1262xx series are more feminine now with the new lugs wich are smaller the the 1162xx. I would’nt go for it i think.
