There are many watches which left me somewhat cold on launch but then after a little time to digest and handle they became must haves for me. I do think watches can be very different in the flash. I do have to say though that being a die hard daytona fan and having always fancied a DD with ice blue dial this 50th Anniversary Daytona was love at first sight for me. I just thought the use of platinum the ice blue dial and hazelnut brown was absolutely genius and works so very well. This is why I’m not a fan of the gem versions which don’t have the brown detail on. Completely changes the look for me. As you may know I am fairly shallow and have always let my eyes and heart make my decisions for me.
With regard to the 5070p my friend I truly wish you had managed to secure one of these as a more deserving owner than you I can’t imagine. You never know my friend things can happen.

For me there are not many submariners which mean as much as this one does. It symbolises so many things and stages in my life for me. The fairly rare transitional 16808 with its nipples ticks lots of boxes. Thank you for your comment. M.
